Thyroid profile test assesses the functions of the Thyroid gland by measuring the levels of thyroid hormones Triiodothyronine(T3), Thyroxine(T4), and Thyroid Stimulating Hormone(TSH). The thyroid profile test detects thyroid diseases such as hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism, thyroiditis, and goiter. Iodine deficiency is one of the major causes of thyroid problem.

Triiodothyronine testing is another name for the Free T3 test. The free T4 test is often referred to as a free thyroxine test. It helps in evaluating the thyroid's functionality, detecting thyroid disorders, and monitoring the success of continuing thyroid therapy.
